Dear Calleigh

My precious baby girl, you are getting so big! I can't believe you're already 2.5 months old! It seems like just yesterday we brought you home. You've taught me so much in the short time you've been here. Yes I've learned how to change a diaper, feed you, entertain you, bathe you, and I pretty much know what you need just by your cry now. But I've also learned that there is no such thing like a bond between a mother and her child. I know how it is to love with all of my heart because of you.

Last night after you fell asleep on my chest I sat there gazing at you. I know I should of gotten up and put you to bed but I couldn't bring myself to do it. It's almost a nightly battle to lay you down when you look so peaceful and beautiful. It's the highlight of my night when you finally succumb to those sleepy eyes and you start to drift off...you usually give me this sleepy grin and you close those pretty eyes of yours and you drift off to sleep.

You've also learned so much too little girl. You light our hearts up with your beautiful smile. I know your so close to giggling, I can't wait to hear it! You are very good at holding your head up for long periods of time. That's no surprise there because you've been trying to hold that head of yours up since we were in the hospital. You've discovered your right fist and you like to gnaw on it. You rolled over for the first time on 12/6 and you've done it many many times since then.

I packed away your newborn size clothes last weekend and I'll be giving them to your new cousin that's on her way. It was sad but I kept a few things I couldn't part with. Your growing up too fast my babe. Please slow down so I can take advantage of you being this small because I know it won't last long.

Love you my sweet nugget!
Mommy.

I finally got her on video rolling over. Click on the above link. Sorry about the quality. I recorded it from my cellphone.

Rollie Pollie

Calleigh rolled from her tummy to her back 3 times yesterday!! I wasn't able to catch any of these on video but I will try tonight. I'm so proud of her! She's getting so strong and my goodness it's scary how fast she's growing. She's already 10 weeks old!

Me and Darren did some Christmas shopping over the weekend. We're done with B and Calleigh. We still have to get M one more thing. And then we still have both sets of our parents and my younger brother to buy for. I don't think we're doing gifts for eachother this year. Over the past 4 or 5 months, Darren has bought me a new stainless steel fridge and oven, and a washer and drier set. He just bought himself a motorcycle last month so we're kinda strapped for gift cash. He claims he may buy me something because the stuff he bought "me" was really for the house but it doesn't matter to be honest with you.

I'm really looking forward to our Christmas holidays. We're off from work from 12/24-1/3. That means I get 11 whole days to spend time with my family =)

My BIG girl!

Today was Calleigh's 2 months well-baby checkup. She weighs in at a whopping 12.5 lbs and is 25 inches long. Whoa little girl..you need to slow down! At birth she weighed 7 lbs 13 oz so she has almost doubled her weight in just 2 months. She's grown 3 1/4 inches! I guess with a 6' 2" dad, and a 5' 8" mom, you have no choice but to be tall. Both her weight and her height is above average for her age but her doctor isn't worried because they balance eachother out.
She got 3 shots today and an oral med for stomach flue. One of her shots had 6 different things in it and the other 2 shots only had one in each. When they poked her with the first needle, her eyes got HUGE and she stuck that lip out and then started screaming. I felt horrible!! She was back to normal thought after some cuddling and her noonie.

I went to my doctor yesterday afternoon. I've had a 3 week long period and it's going on the 4th week now. My doctor gave me a hormone pill to take for 2 weeks and some pain meds for the killer cramps I've been having. I only had about 4 weeks of PP bleeding, then a week and a half later I started this hellacious period and it has not stopped or let up or anything. Hopefully the end is near!!!

I thought this would get easier

I knew having Calleigh here wouldn't replace my feelings for Wyatt but I thought it would atleast make it easier. And yes she has healed pieces of my heart. The pieces that yearned for a baby to love and raise, but not the pieces that are broken over losing one. Wyatt was a complete surprise but he was one of the best. What I wouldn't give to have my little boy here with his little sister. I know he's here in spirit but it's not the same. I watch Darren's son B play with Calleigh and it tugs at my heart. Wyatt would of been such a great big brother. I know he would of helped mold her into such a perfect little lady. He'll always look after her and protect her and I should be happy that she has such a great guardian angel in Heaven. But I just can't help but wonder what it would be like to watch them both playing together though. Sometimes when she's smiling and staring off into space I think that he's talking to her. Call me crazy if you want, but that's what I believe.

Who dat!

I'm working at the restaraunt tonight so I won't be home for the Saints game tonight. Darren is cooking some kind of meat and gravy with his deer meet he took out. I'll also be missing out on my #1 Saints fan cheering dem Saints onto another victory...

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving! Good food and good times. My dad's turkey was the shizzle as always. Everyone thought Calleigh was just the cutest thing. She was very good and didn't fuss at all. We didn't end up staying the night but me and Darren got up at 5am Friday morning and went shopping. We left Calleigh at home with our cousin Brittany. We got alot of good deals and didn't even have to fight anyone for them.
I put our tree up Friday evening and Calleigh absolutely loved it. I put her in her swing and she stared at the lights for a good 30 minutes just smiling. She isn't laughing yet but she's getting there. She's "talking" alot more now and I know that first laugh is right around the corner.
She made 2 months Saturday and man is she getting big!!! Her 2 months appointment is Weds and my poor baby is getting shots :(

Whining

Would it be selfish of me to say that I miss being pregnant and having Calleigh all to myself? While I love having her here and watching her grow every day, I totally miss feeling her kick and move around inside of me and knowing that she was all mine. I miss knowing that I didn't have to share her with Darren, his kids, our families & friends. It was kinda like our own personal bubble.

I HATED having to stay in the hospital 4 extra days but it was great in it's own way too. Even though she was here, I still had her all to myself. Darren and everyone would come to visit but Darren was busy at home getting her room ready (painting, putting together her crib, swing, PNP, dresser...) It was like we were in our own little cocoon.

I soaked in as much as I could of her while I was on maternity leave. I know our bond is strong but she spends so much of her day with other people and not me. That kills me. I know she knows who I am but I'm not there. I have to leave her 5 days out of the week and I feel so guilty. Out of a week day, I'm only with her for 6 hours or less before she's asleep for the night. I really wish we could afford me to stay home but unless Darren finds a job making double what he's making now, it's not doable.

It's nice to dream though isn't it?

On a better note, Calleigh is smiling and grinning so much now. She's not laughing yet but with the noises she's making whilie she's smiling you can tell she's close to laughing. I can't wait to hear her first little giggle. I hope it's while I'm with her and someone else isn't telling me how beautiful it is. She's officially out of NB size clothes. She's into 0-3 now. I felt sad packing up her NB size clothes but she'll soon have a new little cousin I can donate them too. Our cousin Theresa is pregnant and is due in January. She's also having a little girl and she'll get lots of hand-me-downs from Calleigh. We went to her baby shower last Saturday and it was alot of fun. She looked so happy and glowing.

1 Month Photos

These were taken almost a month ago. I got them back yesterday. My little girl already looks so different than she did not even 3 weeks ago. I'll post a more recent pic below and you can compare.

Her face is more filled out and rounder. I can't believe she's going to be 2 months old next Saturday. It hasn't seemed like that long.
She's still sleeping through the night. She's going to sleep earlier during the week because she's not napping much at her maw maws house during the day. My MIL keeps her awake all day and plays with her which is great but it also sucks because I have to deal with a fussy baby and I'm also missing out on time with her since she passes out before I'm even finished cooking dinner. I'm really looking forward to the holidays. We're eating Thanksgiving dinner at my grandmothers house and Calleigh will get to meet the rest of the family. I've been craving some of my dad's fried turkey so I really can't wait! We might stay the night at my parents house that night so I can go shopping Friday morning with my stepmom. Not sure about that yet though.

4 Years

Four years ago while we were laying in his bed, Darren asked me "So, are you gonna be my girlfriend?" Very romantic, huh?
We've been through so much in these last 4 years and I can't believe it's been this long already. We don't celebrate this "anniversary" anymore but I still wanted to acknowledge this special date. I love you babe!!

Back to work....

Today is my 2nd day back at work and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Yesterday morning I woke up at 6ish and started getting ready for work. Calleigh woke up around 6:30 I fed her and we were off to Maw Maw's house. I hated leaving her yesterday morning! I didn't cry but I definately felt guilty. All I could think about yesterday was going to visit her on my lunch and then getting off at 3:30 and picking her up to come home.
Today wasn't that bad. We both woke up at 5:00, I fed her and changed her then we cuddled in the bed and kinda dozed off and on until I had to get up and start getting ready. I didn't feel so guilty dropping her off this morning but she was sleeping and not wide awake like yesterday morning. She couldn't see me leaving her!!
I just got back from visiting with her over my lunch break. She was actually awake today and I got to feed her and play with her for a little while.
I know my MIL is taking good care of her and is loving on her all day and playing with her. I couldn't imagine putting my sweet baby girl in daycare and be worried about her being neglected all day. I know that's not really what goes on at daycares but I still don't want her in one. We're so lucky that Darren's mom is able to keep Calleigh for us.
While it's nice to be back at work, I'd give anything to be at home with my little girl curled up in the bed.

Dreading Monday

Calleigh napping with my dad

I went to the doctor this morning and was released. He said everything looked fine and I can return to normal duties. I also got a script for birthcontrol! I hate having to remember to take them darn pills every day!
I am dreading returning to work on Monday. I hate that I have to go back a whole week earlier than we had planned but I have to.
I took Calleigh to Kmart yesterday to have her pictures tooken at the Olan Mills studio but she wasn't cooperating. She was so fussy but as soon as we left she fell asleep. We're trying again today so hopefully this time will be better.
Everything else is going great though. Calleigh is getting bigger and bigger everyday. Her newborn clothes are getting pretty snug on her and I'm sad about that. She's started grinning but no full flegged smiles just yet. She's up to about 5 oz of formula now and is going through about 5 or 6 bottles a day.

October 28, 2009

4 weeks old! (plus 2 days)

Little Ms Calleigh is a little over 4 weeks old. And while I'm so happy that my little girl is growing, I'm sad because that means that next week will be my last week all alone with her. And before you ask, yes I do get 6 weeks mat leave but what it really is, is 4 weeks paid short term disability plus my 2 vacation weeks. And since our plant is closing down for a full week from Christmas eve until after the new year then I must save a week of my vacation if I want to be paid for that week in December. And my broke butt needs all the money I can get. So I'm robbing myself of a week with my precious baby to make a weeks pay....is it worth it? No, but I have to do it....Bills must be paid :(

Well I believe I have this parenting thing down. I was scared to death to be a parent when I found out I was pregnant. I've never cared for newborns every much. I don't really like babies until they can tell me what they need/want. I mean, I know what I was getting myself into...but I was still scared. Newborns frightened me. I was so afraid to hold her at the hospital because I thought I'd break her neck or something. But as soon as the nurse put her in my arms I knew exactly how to hold her, how to change her diaper, how to feed her, how to swaddle her, and how to love her. Oh how I love her. I can't imagine my life without her now. And yes that's so cliche but it's the truth.

She's such a good baby. She's doing very good. I don't know how much she weighs now but I do know the little ham eats anywhere between 5 or 6 5oz bottles a day. She naps very good and she is stil sleeping through the night. She slept from 11:15 last night until almost 9:30 ths morning!!

Well I need to be going...she's waking up and is probably hungry. I'll try and post some pics later tonight.

Calleigh Kay

I apologize for the lack of posts. I dont have internet at home anymore since we turned off our laptop card last month. BUT there is an att tech coming tomorrow to install our dsl since i cant figure the damn thing out...And i honestly didnt think about trying to post a blog from my phone but i figured it out.

Okay, so how about that birth story??

Well on Sunday 9/27 me and Darren were in bed watching David Letterman...I felt and heard something weird then I felt a trickle. I jumped up thinkin I had peed on myself. I ran to the bathroom and sat on the toilet to finish peeing. Well it wouldnt stop and I could deffinately tell it wasn't pee at this point. So I yell at Darren to get up and get dressed. We load the truck up and head to the hospital. Contractions were coming every 5 mins at this point.

We get to the hospital and they put us in a room before 12:00. I get checked and Im barely a fingertip dialated. We hang out for a while and watch tv. Contractions were getting closer and more painful. An hour had went by so the nurse checked me again and I was a centimeter dialated. She gave me a cocktail of pain meds because I wasnt ready for the epi yet. We dozed off and on for the next hour. Contractions were hell by this point and I was constantly reachin for Darrens hand to squeeze during them. He helped me to the bathroom a few times also because I was feeling like I had to poo but nothing was coming.

I paged for the nurse askin to be checked again and at first she didnt want to. She finally did and she told us I was 8 cms and was about to miss my epi. I told her there was no way I was having this baby without one so they better get on it.

They kick Darren out and had to give me the epi during contractions. I felt so much better!! Well fast forward about 6 hours....the dr on call had to use the vacuum and Calleigh Kay Sproles was born on September 28th at 6:47 am weighing in at 7 lbs 13 oz and measuring 21 3/4 in long!!!

We had to stay in the hospital until Thursday because I had a fever when I delivered and my amniotic fluid had an odd smell. Never found out what it was from. Well we both had IVs in us for antibiotics and it broke my heart to see the IV in her little foot. She wasnt eating too good at first and it was from the IV so they took that out Weds afternoon. After a few hours she was eating fine.

Breastfeeding hasnt gone like I wanted it to. My milk came in I guess but has just about went away. Im able to feed her once or twice a day on the boobs but I know it isnt alot because she still needs about 2 oz of formula after. My boobs are failures :(

Well thats pretty much the whole story. Calleigh is absouletly perfect. She is a good mixture of both of us. She has a head full of brown hair and the longest feet, toes, and fingers. She sleeps very good at night. She'll go to sleep around 9 or 10 and wake up only once anywhere between 3 to 6 to eat. Im hopin this sleep pattern sticks!!

I really enjoy being at home with her all day. I love when she falls asleep on my chest or in my arms. I love her so much and I'm so glad that after 3 long years after losing our son, I'm finally a mommy!

No progress but we have a plan...

I went to see my doctor yesterday to be checked. I have zero dialation still. My cervix is still very soft and KK is still very low. Tomorrow I'm 39 weeks. I'm due the following Thursday which is 10/1. My doctor said that at my appointment next Tuesday 9/29, if theres still no dilatation, they'll see me again the following Tuesday which will be 10/6. If I make it to 10/6 he said that we will talk about an INDUCTION date...I do not want to be induced. Let's pray that KK decides she is ready to make an apperance by then....

I know it's normal to not have any progress by 39 weeks but damnit, I thought for sure these freaking stupid contractions were doing something down there. Kinda bummed but oh well...I fully intent on enjoying my comfort food dinner tonight....white beans and sausage with cornbread. Maybe even some ben n jerry's ice cream for desert.

Traditions

I was talking to my stepmom Friday afternoon and she had asked me what traditions we were going to start. So far our holidays have pretty much been hectic. For Thanksgiving, we used to drive 2 hours to do it with my family. Last year it was our first Thanksgiving in our new house so we did our own dinner and invited friends over. It turned into more of a party than anything though because we didn't have the kiddos. This year I'm sure we'll stay around the house again but I honestly don't know.
For Christmas we used to stay at my parents house for Christmas eve and then get up and do Christmas morning with them and head to DH's parents house, then head off to go meet up with the kids mom to either get them or give them to her. Last Christmas, we did it at our house and DH's parents stayed with us Christmas eve and Christmas day and we did Santa and left to go to my parents and grandmothers house.
This year I'm still not sure what were going to do but we'll figure it out.
Anyway...my stepmom suggested that they come to us for Christmas next year and the years following to start our own SET Christmas tradition. Where there would be no variation and we'd know exactly what was happening. Their thing is, they'd rather see KK on Christmas morning and enjoy that. This year she won't know whats going on at Christmas so it won't be the same as next year or any of the following years.
It kinda makes me feel like an adult to have our own traditions and I can't wait to actually have it figured out.

38 Week appointment

Yesterday was my 38 week appointment. My doctor checked me and told me that I'm not dialated but I'm even softer and the baby is pretty low in my pelvis. He said that instead of waiting until my weekly appointment next Thursday, that he wanted to see me on Tuesday instead. He asked about the contractions I've been having and then said "Yes I definately want to see you on Tuesday".........I'm wondering what he thinks is going to happen in the next few days. Darren thinks he's going to win the money pool we have going on since he betted on Weds. We'll see though.

Monday I have an appointment for an hour long maternity massage. I can not wait! I've been wanting one so bad for most of this pregnancy and I've been putting it off. I figured I should just go ahead and do it since I'm so close to the end now. The only bummer is that they don't have a bed with a hole in it for the belleh. They lay you on your side but make you comfy with pillows and such. Regardless..I can't wait to be rubbed down for a whole hour. I get one handed massages from the hubs every once in a while...this will be so much better!

Okay...on to the house. We got home yesterday and they already had the siding up, and the window in my kitchen knocked out for the door. They had a piece of plywood up though because they didn't have enough time to install the door. They said that today they would have the new kitchen door installed, his bedroom door installed, and they would be starting on insulating the bedroom. I'll take pictures this weekend and post them Monday.

Last night was my last night at Little River Inn. I made right at $50 and some change. I was sad to tell everyone bye but I know I'll end up there before the baby is born just to hang out and see everyone. I'm so damn sore this morning and I know it's because I worked until 9:30 last night. My body has been telling me for the past few weeks that I needed to quit working my 2nd job. The following 2 days after working 1 night, I will be so sore and feel like my hips are breaking and I'm very swollen for a few days after.

38 Weeks!!!!!!!!!!

How far along: 38 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: 34 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yep
Stretch marks? Yep. Not as much as I thought I'd get to be honest with you.
Sleep: Not good. I'm to the point where I'm sleeping in a sports bra and a pair of panties because I'm so damn hot! I'm uncomfortable and the bed just isn't big enough for the two of us plus all the pillows I'm using for props!
Best moment this week: FINALLY getting our addition started on. The guys are working fast and will hopefully be done soon so we can move Bailey in there and get started on KK's room!!
Movement: Yes plenty of it. She hasn't slowed down yet.
Food cravings: Chocolate pudding. I've threatened to bite anyones arms off who eats any of my pudding I have stashed in the fridge at home or at work.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Oww started having contractions yesterday. They lasted all freaking afternoon and into last night. I felt like I was going to start my period at any given moment yesterday. It was like sharp sharp painful period cramps. They were across my lower back, into my whole freaking stomach, and actually spread into my groin area. I don't think these were fake ones (bc of the pain) but honestly, what do I know?
Belly Button in or out? I've had an outtie for a few weeks now...it keeps sticking out more and more though.
What I miss: Having sex with my husband. I never thought we'd be the couple to completely quit having sex. That's all I wanted with my first pregnancy. I'd rape him while we were sleeping just about every night. We haven't had sex in well over a month and I miss our intimacy.
What I am looking forward to: Getting started on KK's room. Going pick out paint sometime this weekend!!!
Milestones: Making it to 38 weeks! I only have 2 weeks left until my EDD. Lets see when she makes her debut though.
Okay...time for some pics.

As promised...

This first picture is one of inside his bedroom so far.
This second picture is a window in my kitchen that is going to be knocked out to make a new kitchen door.
This 3rd pciture is one of Bailey's windows.
Just a larger side shot of above picture. Ignore the party barge.

This is Bailey's second window and this is infront of the house. My front door is set to the right and about a foot or two behind that brick column.
These are pictures as of yesterday (9/16/09) Today the guys are actually doing work inside of my house so that it'll tie into this new bedroom. It's looking good so far and they'll be done soon. I work tonight and not quite sure what time I'll be getting off so I may or may not have pictures to post tomorrow.

Shopping trip

Today I am going shopping for stuff for my hospital bag. I am officially freaking out. I am running out of time! I have been putting this list together for about a week or so now and I think I'm pretty well prepared without having too much. This should easily fit into our medium sized suit case and have room to bring home extra goodies. They started on our addition Monday and today they already have support columns and beams up and they should be starting on the walls sometime tomorrow I believe. Once it starts looking like something I'll snap some pics. I can't wait to get B out of his old room and into his new room so I can paint and get ready for KK.
If Darren's hunch is right, I'll be having her by next Weds. I am praying that he is wrong...I need more time!!!

September 11, 2009

Not dialated yet!!!

Well today was my 37 week appointment. My doctor wasn't in so I seen another Dr that I haven't met yet. She was nice. They hooked me up to the machine and did 15 minutes of heartbeat and movement monitoring. She was moving good and the dr commented on how strong of a HB she has. Then I had a finger shoved up my hoo-ha. No dialation as of yet, but she said I am pretty low and she didn't make any comments about softness or anything else.

I'm glad that KK isn't ready to come into the world yet. I need a few more weeks to get ready for you little girl!

The contractors start Monday on building B's room. Shouldn't take any longer than a week or so.

September 10, 2009

Her crib

Okay so I figured this deserved it's own post seperate from my weekly update.
We bought KK's crib last night and a few other items we needed. We also ate Coyote Blues last night and I realized that was probably our last date their before KK comes. We'll see though...I might have to make Darren go there again one night within the next week or two.

So Darren is about to sign with a contractor. They could start on B's room this coming Monday (if the weather lets them finish up their other job this week) We're putting KK in B's old room so once they start on his room I can start packing up his stuff and cleaning the room up really good and paint it. Then we can finally start putting all of KK's stuff in her room and setting everything up. It would be so cool if B's room is built before the kids come next weekend.
Our good friend Josh bought KK her crib. He's the Godfather and claimed this as his gift to us when we told everyone we were pregnant. We're so grateful for him buying this for her. He's such a good guy and I know this is only the beginning of him spoiling her.

I can't wait to set the crib up with the bedding set that came in last week. Hopefully everything is ready or almost ready for her when she arrives. I really don't mind her sleeping in her pack n play in our room for the first few weeks to be honest with you. The PNP my parents bought her has a co-sleeper attachment for it and I could set that right up next to our bed if her room isn't ready yet. Guess we'll see what happens.

37 weeks

How far along: 37 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: 32 lbs. I have an appt tomorrow so if I've gained more, they'll tell me then.
Maternity clothes? Yep
Stretch marks? Yep
Sleep: Pretty crappy honestly. I'm sweating the whole night, even though Darren sleeps under the comforter bc I have the ac set so low. I'm up 2 or 3 times to pee now too.
Best moment this week: Buying KK's crib last night and making a list for the last few items we need for her and the list for my hospital bag.
Movement: It's gone from kicks to rolls and punches now. I wish I could see what body part is what when she's moving around in there.
Food cravings: Ice cream
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: I've been having Braxton Hicks & them suckers hurt
Belly Button in or out? I've had an outtie for a few weeks now...it keeps sticking out more and more though.
What I miss: Sleeping on my belly, being comfortable, wearing my cute clothes & shoes, sex, liquor.....
What I am looking forward to: Possibly getting the addition started on Monday. B's room might be finished before the kiddos come back next weekend. He'd love it if he had his brand new room!
Milestones: Well today I am considered freaking full term man...any day now baby girl but I'd prefer it if you stayed another week or two. We're not quite ready for you KK!!!

September 2, 2009

36 Weeks (A day early)

I am doing this a day early because I won't be able to tomorrow. We recently just finished up a big project here at work and I'll be busy with double pipe numbers ALL freaking day tomorrow. I can't believe I am already at 36 weeks. Man...where has the time gone? Last Thursday was my 35/35 milestone. Yesterday made it exactly one month until my due date. I feel as if I have no other major milestones to look forward to now but the arrival of our little girl. I can not wait to meet her!!! I had Darren snap this picture last night after dinner. I never realized how big I was until I seen it. The view from up top looks COMPLETELY different than this.

How far along: 36 Weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: 32 lbs

Maternity clothes? Yep

Stretch marks? I haz them, yes. No new ones still but my old stretchies are stretched out again

Sleep: Pretty crappy honestly. I'm sweating the whole night, even though Darren sleeps under the comforter bc I have the ac set so low. I'm up 2 or 3 times to pee now too.
Best moment this week: My baby shower on Sunday!!!

Movement: It's gone from kicks to rolls and punches now. I wish I could see what body part is what when she's moving around in there.

Food cravings: Uhm banana nut bread. We were watching TV Monday night and I seen banana nut bread on whatever show we were watching. I started making a loaf at 9:30 at night. Yep...HAD TO HAVE IT!

What I am looking forward to: Going to my shower in Denham Springs Sunday!! I can not freaking wait to see all my family and friends. I haven't seen most of them since Easter...

Milestones: Uhm well I made my 35 weeks /35 days left milestone. I have also made it to my OMG I ONLY HAVE ONE MONTH LEFT milestone.

Taking bets

Last night after dinner Darren made the comment that he doesn't think I'm going to make it till my due date. He's betting that I have the baby on 9/23. Our cousin Britt who is staying with us is betting on 9/28 and I have a feeling I'm going to have her on 9/25. We have $15 in the pool right now....I wonder who's going to be right....

Progress

Okay no, not that kinda progress but we're making progress on our addition. Originally, we had planned to build a 20X20 master bedroom onto the back of our house and put KK in our room. Well after getting quotes well over $35,000 for that we decided to enclose our covered patio/carport instead. Well it was kinda hard to find a contracting company that would do something so small without them trying to charge us for every.little.thing to make up for the small job.

Okay, so I was talking to my dad last night and he offered to come down here for a weekend and help Darren enclose it in themselves. My dad is so darn handy it's ridiculous. He built him and my stepmom's master bedroom and a cabana room at their house in one summer...by himself. I ran the idea by Darren and he's totally up for it!!! See, Darren isn't exactly a handy guy when it comes to building stuff. But with my dad's help and maybe even Darren's dad's help, it should be done in a weekend!!! We just gotta pick a few dates to run them by my dad and see when a good time for him to come would be. He's been working on their fishing camp in Montegut so hopefully he can tear himself away from that for one weekend to come do this for us.

And since I ordered KK's bedset Weds, it should be in soon. I'm going to try and talk Darren into letting me start taking Bailey's room apart so I can clean it really good and paint it the color I want to match the bedding. I think Bailey would be fine sleeping on the couch when they come stay until his room is built. I just REALLY REALLY REALLY wanna get started on the nursery because you never know when she is going to be ready to make her grand debut!!

Well today is my 35 week appointment. They're doing an NST scan. I can't believe how close it's getting for KK to finally be here!! I can't wait to meet our precious baby girl.

Darren made the comment last night that we need to get a bag packed for us and I was like OMG yeah that might be a good idea....it hit me last night that this could happen any time VERY soon. It's kinda overwhelming. I just hope that I can be a good mommy to this baby girl of ours.

I've waited 3 long years for this. I've had an empty spot in my heart since we lost Wyatt and even though I knew I was a mommy to an angel and a stepmom to two children...I never really felt like a mom. I've never had anyone call me mommy and I can't wait to hear those sweet words come out of our daughters mouth. I know I'll always have that spot in my heart for our son but hopefully his sister can help me heal a little bit better.

I am officially MISERABLE!!!

Okay so on top of being almost 35 weeks pregnant, I have serious swelling of my feet and ankles at night, horrible hot flashes/night sweats, a thirst that can't be quenched, and very painful braxton hicks. I mean they are so painful that they take my breath away and stop me dead in my tracks! I'm so hoping the next few weeks pass quickly. I have enjoyed my pregnancy this whole time but I believe I am getting to the point where I am done.

I worked Monday night @ the restaraunt and closed. Got home a little before 11, took a bath, ate dinner, and got in the bed around 12ish. Yesterday I was MISERABLE! I couldn't get out of the bed. It felt like my hips were going to break if I moved myself. I had to get Darren to push/roll me out of bed. I was hunched over hobbling to the bathroom. I was in pain all day yesterday at work and pretty much until I laid down in bed to go to sleep.

I believe that it's almost time for me to start giving up my shifts at work. I only work 2 nights a week (Mon & Thurs) and then whatever they schedule me for the weekend. But I am thinking I am going to give up one of my nights and then only work a night on the weekend. I hope Richard doesn't have a problem with that. I mean I am 8 1/2 months pregnant...and I've worked the whole time without any complaints. But if I can't walk the next day after working the night before at the restaraunt, then I think that's my body's way of telling me to SLOW THE HELL DOWN!!!

Now I only have to figure out which night to give up and start bugging people to see if they want my shift. I think I'll probably quit all together after labor day. I'll make my year and I can get my vacation check....then I'll be outta there! I'll enjoy my last few weeks of only having 1 job.

And speaking of only having one job....I start interviewing people next week. I'll probably interview for a few days, then choose a few people for a 2nd interview, then train for a week or so or until we're both comfortable with him/her working WITHOUT ME OVER THEIR SHOULDER and then I'll probably start working half days here at my day job.

I have a doctor appointment Friday. It's an NST scan and he's going to check to see if I'm dialated or softened or anything like that. I honestly do not believe I am going to make it to October 1st but we'll see.

Work Shower

I've posted just a few pictures from my shower the girls at work threw us this past Sunday. We had fun and enjoyed ourselves. We got alot of clothes and the only thing that was off of my registry was the changing pad my good friend Thao got us. I'm very grateful to have such good friends!
Can't wait for the shower in Denham!

Doctor Appointment

Well yesterday was my 32 week appointment. I had an ultrasound and 30 minutes of fetal movement monitoring. The ultrasound went great. KK is weighing 4lbs 8 oz and she is HEAD DOWN! She is loaded and ready to go (well in about 7.5 weeks) She is all curled up to my right side of the belleh and during the U/S she was waving her little arms at us. She's in the 51st% of growth or something like that. She moves alot and the U/S tech had problems getting measurements for a few minutes so we just let KK move around and we watched her and laughed at her. She finally calmed down and let the Dr. do her business. She's growing right on schedule with my due date of 10/1 so lets hope it stays that way. I only gained 2 lbs since my last apt, which is good. I guess giving up my late night binge fest of oreos and milk kinda helped huh?

Sunday is my shower at the restaraunt and I'm getting very excited about it! I can't wait to see what my girls have in store for me and KK. Saturday me, Becca, and Britt are going shopping for something to wear to the shower. I don't know if I'm going to wear the same thing to both of my showers but we'll see!

I really need to post an updated pic. I've been putting it off because I was getting my hair highlighted and cut this past Saturday and I really haven't had time to stop and take a picture this week while at work. I promise I'll do that today though!!

August 7, 2009

32 Weeks

Okay so here I am at 32 weeks and 1 day. I have about 8 weeks or so left. I hope it's less but we'll see what she has in store for us. Me and Darren were talking last night and we decided on a middle name. Since we're keeping her first name a secret, I figure I can tell the one person who reads my blog what her middle name is going to be...Kay. Her initials will be KKS. DH has already nicknamed her KK..I'm starting to get really excited about our little girl coming. The girls at work last night asked me if I was having an epidural and I said well of course! I couldn't imagine not having one and pushing a baby out of my vadge....I'm a wuss! Then I got to thinking and I figure I probably could go au naturel because I know our little angel Wyatt wouldn't let anything happen to me or his little sister. This pregnancy has been so easy compared to Wyatt's pregnancy and I chalk it all up to my little angel. I know he's keeping us under his wings and I know he'll continue to do so. Now I'm not saying I WOULDN'T have an epidural, because I totally am, but I'm saying I think I could do without one if I really wanted to.

Anyway, I don't think much else has been going on....so onto the weekly update!

How far along: 32 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: Was up 26 lbs with my last update. I don't know how much I've gained since then. Don't really care either, but I'll find out Tuesday at my appointment.
Maternity clothes? Yep
Stretch marks? Besides the 2 new ones on my right side, no new ones to report on. There is an old stretchie above my belly button ring scar that is stretching even worse, so does that count as a new one?
Sleep: Once I find a comfy position, I'm dead to the world..
Best moment this week: Getting my hair cut and highlighted tomorrow. I can totally go for a pampering day and man do I need it!
Movement: She's bouncing around pretty much all day now.
Food cravings: Well....I really really really wanted a cheeseburger from sonic with pepperjack cheese, grilled onions, mayo, and bacon with a chili cheese tot with ranch and jalapenos. Turns out they don't have pepperjack cheese anymore, so I had to settle for regular cheese. Oh well!! My tots were awesome!
Food aversions: None..actually I haven't really had any food aversions this whole pregnancy.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Not actual labor signs but I've been having Braxton Hicks
Belly Button in or out? As of last week, I officially have an "outtie"
What I miss: Sex...it's so uncomfortable!
What I am looking forward to: Getting my hair did tomorrow and then getting a new fridge either sometime today or tomorrow. We're taking advantage of the tax free weekend.
Weekly Wisdom: nothing new
Milestones: A little TMI here, but I went 5 days with out pooping and I finally pooped yesterday!!! Yay me!!!

August 4, 2009

She's running outta room!!!

Movement has gotten painful.. Well not painful but uncomfortable! Last night I was laying in bed and I swear to you if the light would of been on you would of seen body parts protruding from my belly!!! I could feel either a hand or a foot stuck in one position for a few minutes. And while that was on one side of my belly, on the other side something very hard was pressed up against my stomach for a while too. I'm thinking either a head or a butt or a back. It was a very weird feeling and if Darren hadn't been sleeping like a baby I would of woke him up. I was scared!! I thought she was trying to claw herself out!!! Like I said before, it didn't hurt but it was just really uncomfortable. Like I was thinking it should hurt but it didn't. She kept me awake for about 45 minutes while she did this. I chalk it up to the slice of turtle cheesecake I had before bed.

Lets hope she simmers down tonight! Momma needs her sleep!

July 29, 2009

Fat feet :(

I refuse to go shoe shopping for the rest of this pregnancy!!
I went to payless last night to get a pair of strappy low heel sandals and I had to go up a half size and get a wide!! My feet aren't swollen, but they have gotten bigger I guess?

Babyshowers, Maternity shoot, & an OH SH*T moment!

I really am lucky to have such great family and friends. My best friend of 10 years (who is also babygirls godmother) has been gracious enough to host a shower in September. And my very good friends that I work with at the restaraunt have offered to host a shower at the restaraunt on August 16th. I'm very excited! I will be shopping for shower outfits soon!! Yay!!

I also need to pick out a dress to wear for our maternity shoot we're doing. I'm thinking of wearing a white maxi dress that I seen at the mall a few weekends ago and seeing if I can find a sunflower hair clip thing somewhere on the internet. Since the nursery won't be done anytime soon I'm guessing we'll do the maternity shoot at either the city park. It's really pretty and has a small man made pond with ducks. It also has the Bayou Teche flowing through the park and huge old trees, so that would probably make for some good shots.

On a seperate note, I'll be 30 weeks TOMORROW!!!!!!!! I am seriously in shock. I can't believe I'll only have 10 weeks or so left. I haven't even signed with a contractor yet...I've met with a few but I'm waiting on their drawings and quotes to choose one.

July 20, 2009

I feel like I live in a freaking hotel

Okay so I've made a few comments about our buddy J who has been staying with us since JANUARY!! right? Well Darren's uncle C has also been staying with us the past few weeks. They both are working with us right now and Uncle C only has a few more weeks of work to do on the project he's working on so he'll be out of our hair soon. But I am honestly ready to pull my freaking hair out. I am trying to get custody of my cousin Britt. She has been staying with us all summer and I do not mind her being there one bit. At all. I love this girl to death. She helps me out so much, it's unreal. She washes the dishes without me asking her to, she has the house clean when I come home from work, she even picks up after D, J and Uncle C (even though I've told her NOT to). She walks my dog and takes good care of him too. This girl is such a huge help and I couldn't imagine making it through this long summer without her. So with me, D, Britt, J, Uncle C that makes 5 people staying in my little bitty house.....
I don't know how much longer I can take it before...
I move out
I kick someone out
I light my house on fire to get them all out

I thank God that I am working tonight so that I can have a break from all the male moodiness that is in my house tonight. I hope I close and I hope they are all asleep when I come home from work.

Sorry for the rambling..it probably doesn't make sense but I don't know how much longer I can take being HOTEL DE SPROLES!!!!!!!!

July 17, 2009

29 weeks

This post will not have a picture. I feel like total shiiiit today and I refuse to smile for a picture. I'll take a picture with the next weekly post.

I went to the doctor yesterday for my GD test. I was there for all of 2 hours. Gave 6 vials of blood. Doctor Haile measured my belly and I was measuring 29 centimeters..so I'm right on schedule with that. When I go back in 4 weeks I'll be 33 weeks and that'll be my last monthly appt. After that, I start going weekly..not ever other week, but weekly!! He wants to keep a closer (than normal) eye on things toward the end. I also start the fetal movement monitering things with my next appointment and also another ultrasound. I'd love it if Darren could go to that appointment just because it's so much going on. He hasn't made it to a single appointment yet. I doubt he'll make it to that one though because of the job their on right now. Production is expected to last until September so my apt in August I'll probably go to by myself. It's nice to hope though, right?

Okay...so onto the weekly update.

How far along: 29 weeks!!
Total weight gain/loss: 26 lbs
Maternity clothes? Yep and I love them.
Stretch marks? I *think* I found 2 new ones on the side of my belly...
Sleep: Hasn't been too good this week. I've been so sore and tired but can't sleep very well. It's hard to find a comfy position.
Best moment this week: hmm....haven't had a best moment
Movement: Most of the day now.
Food cravings: Nothing really.
Food aversions: None.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Not actual labor signs but I've been having Braxton Hicks
Belly Button in or out? Still in, but it is getting pretty shallow.
What I miss: Liquor and sex...oh and liquored up sex! ;)
What I am looking forward to: The weekend...sleeping in
Weekly Wisdom: nothing new
Milestones: can't think of anything.

July 10, 2009

I'm ashamed to admit

That I am sitting here at my desk with my pants unbuttoned, my zipper unzipped, and my belt undone. I made a huge mistake wearing a pair of my "fat capris" to work today. I can't breath!! I have a sweater laying across my lap but seriously..what was I thinking??? I would freaking die if someone came in here and needed me to get up for whatever reason, I'd be like "hold on..let me do my pants up!" I will only wear maternity pants and my gaucho pants from now on...I am so uncomfortable!

I'm so glad today is a half day for me! 12:00 can't come soon enough!!

Oh and I made 28 weeks yesterday!! I am officially 7 months pregnant!

July 9, 2009

A little relief

I made an appointment to go see my chiropractor today at 2:00!! I can't wait to sit in the chair with a heating pad on my back along with those muscle twitchy pad things. Their chairs are one of the few massage chairs that I actually like. And Dr. Vidrine has magic fingers. He usually does a mini-massage before he adjusts you and it's great. I wonder how he's going to adjust me though...

Well I've got a few different contractors coming to the house over the next week or so to do estimates. I hope I find one that we like and agree on the price. I'm ready to get this started. I have put it off way too long.

Saturday me and my cousin Brittany are going to register for my shower. I think I'll even treat her to lunch somewhere yummy. I'm wanting Coyote Blues but we'll probably go to Buffalo Wild Wings because it's really cheap and I'm always up for some hot wings!

July 6, 2009

Found a tree decal

I was browsing the nursery decor board this morning while eating my breakfast and I found a site that has a 7 foot tall tree that ONLY costs $60! I can't freakin wait to order it.

I am calling a few contractors this morning to talk business. Hopefully we can get someone at our house this week to do a drawing and get this started. I very highly doubt this will be finished before baby girl comes but we'll see. I put it off too long..but it's my own fault.

We chose a name!!

Last night we were laying in bed trying to go to sleep. I was snuggled up against Darren's back in a way that his booty was right in front of my stomach. We were talking names and I think we decided on a name (squeee!!). Well I'm guessing baby girl wanted to voice her opinion because she started kicking really hard. Darren felt her kicking his booty!! It was hilarious!!

Don't ask what name we chose because we aren't telling. You'll have to wait until baby girl makes her big debut! It's really pretty and it's not "trendy". We have no family members or friends that have this name so we're really excited about that. Now we have to start thinking middle names!!

July 3, 2009

More Hmmm....

I want a closet organizer. Nuff said!
The type of crib I want. Our daughter's godfather has offered to buy her crib. So one night pretty soon we are all going to Lafayette to go shopping and then we'll be treating him to some awesome Coyote Blues!

Possible paint color ideas...going for a light springy green/celery green I think.

I think doing a branch instead of a whole tree would be best. I'd have it coming out of a corner in the room and over the crib or over the changing table or something.

Hmmm

I believe I found our little girls bedding. I hate the pink in it but it's the first one I found that was under $200 that didn't SCREAM frou-frou to me! I like the "bird" theme and I would LOVE to put a tree decal up on a wall somewhere in the room. Now I'm just searching for who has the cheapest price on this set.
Thoughts???
Just a warning...there will probably be a few more posts today. I will probably put my nursery "together" on my blog because I have nothing better to do at work today.

July 1, 2009

I hate July

Okay so I don't HATE July...I just dislike the month very much. And actually, it should be one of my favorites. We celebrate the 4th of July, which always includes lots of good food, good times, and good family and friends. My father in laws birthday and sister in laws birthday are in July. My parents (Dad and Stepmom) celebrate their wedding anniversary in July. It's summertime and the weather is usually gorgeous. So you might be wondering why I "hate" the month of July right? Well it's because our sweet sweet angel was taken from us almost 3 years ago now...July 25th.

I flipped my calendar this morning when I got to work and after I admired the pretty picture they have for the month of July, my heart sank.

I wasn't ready for this yet. I'm sure my hormones aren't helping any but I just really want July to come and go and be done with.

June 25, 2009

26 Weeks

Okay so my doctor told me to watch what I eat from now on. Apparantly I've put on too much weight. I've gained 23 pounds all together. First of all, let me tell you something, before I got pregnant I had lost alot of weight. And I mean alot! I weighed 133 when I found out I was pregnant. I haven't weighed 130 anything since JR high. I wasn't eating dinner and I was barely eating lunch. I worked way too much and when I got home from work late at night, I'd take a shower and go to bed. So of course, I'm going to lose weight. Now, I usually weigh anywhere between 145-155. I weigh 156 right now. I think I'm doing pretty good so..... Mr. Doctor you can kiss my fat ass!! I will continue to eat my oreos and milk TYVM!

How far along: 26 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!! Agh!!!!!!!

Total weight gain/loss: 23 lbs....suck it Dr. Haile!!!!!!!!!!!

Maternity clothes? Yep and I love them. So comfy.

Stretch marks? I found new ones on my boobies but no new ones on my belly.

Sleep: Nothing to complain about here. Darren wakes me up alot telling me I'm on my back and I'll just roll over but other than that, nothing.
Best moment this week: hmm....haven't had a best moment
Movement: I feel alot more movement. It's still weird to see my belly move but I love it =)
Food cravings: Nothing really.
Food aversions: None.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Not actual labor signs but I've started having Braxton Hicks
Belly Button in or out? Still in, but it is getting pretty shallow.
What I miss: Alcohol...HARD LIQUOR actually
What I am looking forward to: getting the addition to our house started.
Weekly Wisdom: nothing new
Milestones: Hitting double digits yesterday..98 days left!

June 23, 2009

It's been a while

It's been a while since I last posted. I've had alot going on to even think about this. I need to do a weekly update so I'll probably end up doing that later.
Well anyway, we haven't really been up to much. Just growing a baby and trying to find a contractor to come to my house. We had a good fathers day weekend. We had the kids and we went to my parents camp Sunday. We boiled crabs and crawfish. Darren crabbed most of the day and threw his cast net a few times. He's getting the hang of throwing it so hopefully he'll be stocking my freezer with shrimp. Not that we need it though. We just brought 50 lbs of shrimp home with us Sunday. Darren de-headed them last night and threw them in the freezer. I have to go home today and peel and clean about 2 or 3 dozen crabs so hopefully that doesn't take me too long.
I need to clean my kitchen from top to bottom really good and I also have to cook dinner. I'm frying shrimp for some po-boys. But, before any of that gets done, I have to go grocery shopping today when I get off work. I'm so glad that Darren gets off at 6:00 now. I'm lucky I'm off Weds night too because man I need to catch up on my sleep. I know there is no chance I'll be going to bed early tonight!
Well I need to do some of my work and I'll update with a weekly post later this afternoon.

June 5, 2009

Team Pink!!

WE'RE HAVING A SWEET PRECIOUS BABY GIRL!!!!
I'm so excited! I knew it was going to be a girl after my last ultrasound. We are over the moon! I'll post the ultrasound pictures later.

June 4, 2009

Need to get on the ball...

Okay so I'm 23 weeks as of today. That means I only have 17 weeks left!! I so freaking need to get on the ball and get this addition to my house started! Not only that, but I'll also have to get started on the nursery when they are finished. So many people already have the nursery's finished or atleast started by now and man am I slacking!
I hope we can find out what we are having Friday and I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that Darren will be able to come. He'll have to leave work early Friday and also Monday. Monday we are going to see the WWE Monday Night Raw at the Cajundome!! I can't wait for that either. I bought these tickets back in Feb and we are finally going!

Ultrasound Photos

Well they couldn't tell what our baby was yet. I hope to have better luck at my 3d/4d ultrasound next Friday. It's at 2:00 and I always feel more movement after lunch and later in the afternoon than I do in the morning which was when this apt was. Everything else looked fine though. Our Nugget is weighing in at 1lb 1oz and they changed my due date to October 1st. Baby is still breech and hopefully she/he will turn for us within the next 18 weeks or so.
So....what do YOU think our baby is? Boy or girl?

May 26, 2009

Sunburns suck!

Well we almost let the rain ruin our weekend but we were going to the camp come hell or high water! We are so glad we went too because it didn't rain one single drop the whole time. It didn't rain until yesterday and we were already home and recovering from the long weekend. We got to my parents camp late Friday night and we went to sleep after hanging out for a while. Saturday, my dad and Darren got up early and went fishing. Me and my stepmom got up and went shopping! We fried the fish the guys had caught for dinner that night. Darren made his FAMOUS shrimp poppers also and my parents loved them. We hung out most of the day Sunday and the guys went fishing later that afternoon. Me and my stepmom laid out and talked all day. I'm severly burnt but oh well. We boiled crabs when the guys got back and me and Darren left to come home around 7ish. We both had a blast and we can't wait to go back. It was so good to see my parents and I miss them so much! My stepmom looks freakin awesome after her total body makeover surgery she had recently.
Now it's back to work and this is going to be a fun week...I'm sunburnt and in pain. But the best thing is...is that we find out what our nugget is THURSDAY!! Counting down...2 more days :)

Nugget must have found his legs!

I've been feeling the baby move and kick for quite some time. It started out as flutters but now it's full blown kicks. I believe our little one has found his legs and figured out how they work! Darren felt the baby kick last night for the first time. He was so happy! He's been trying for a while now and baby gave him one good kick last night.
Onto other news....I feel like a pregnant slob today. I jumped up out of the bed too fast this morning to answer my phone and when I jumped up I guess my equilibrium was still laying down in the bed or something because I just feel loopy. I've thrown up at a gas station and here at work. I will definately be taking a nap at work today. And I might even find time to update with a 20 week update.

May 14, 2009

Diaper Bag

So after alot of research I've found the diaper bag I want. It's a Ju-Ju-Be and it's the "Be All" bag. I'm not sure what pattern I like the best but this is what I want!

Going shopping

I tried to put it off as long as I could. But I am breaking down and going shopping for maternity clothes. I ALMOST made it halfway through this pregnancy without buying the first lick of mat. clothes except for my bella-bands. I am tired of not buttoning my pants. I am tired of not fitting into my clothes. I am tired of not fitting into my bras. I'm going shopping this Saturday morning before I go to work that night. I can't wait to wear comfy-omfy clothes.

Little birdies

I've been watching these two little birdies try and build a nest today. They are attempting to build it on a light that is right outside my window. There is just no room and everything they put up there falls off. They keep picking up the same pieces of grass and junk just for it to fall again. They'll fly off and bring more back and whatever they have keeps falling. Seriously..the space they are trying to use is about the width of a ruler...what is that...an inch? Oh well...silly birdies. Gotta give it to them for trying.

And yes I have nothing better to do at work than stare out my window.

Tonight is date night. Going to see Wolverine and eat a cheap dinner somewhere. Nachos are calling my name!!

Ultrasound pictures!!!

As promised! Baby was tucked into a ball and had his legs crossed. He wasn't in the best position to be able to tell the sex yet but everything is healthy and his measurements put me a day ahead of schedule but I'm not changing any tickers because honestly I don't think one day is going to make a difference. I got to see baby wiggle around but he just wouldn't change position. Yay for a healthy baby!!
